This is a program initiated by the Co-operative Governance Africa to help create viable Financial Co-operatives/ Credit Unions. The Program is to assist, communities, organisations, companies, faith-based group and employees who wish to put themselves together to form credit union / financial co-operative. The program is designed to establish a good foundation with better governance structures that will enable the Fincoops/Credit Union stand the test of time. The program will help to nurture the new group through registration, licensing, and ensure absolute compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

The program is also extended to help existing Fincoops/Credit Unions that need restructuring, mergers or development to meet all regulatory and compliance requirements. These category of societies are also supported to improve on their financial health and attain an overall sustainability.
